What Is Isometric Graph Paper?
Isometric graph paper uses a grid of equilateral triangles. The lines run in three directions: one vertical set and two sets angled 30 degrees from horizontal, which creates the 60 and 120 degree intersections typical of isometric drawing.
Because the angles are fixed, you can sketch three-dimensional forms on a flat page without setting up a perspective system or calculating vanishing points.

5mm Metric Grid
The 5mm grid is a practical metric option for isometric drawing. It provides a moderate amount of guide detail while leaving room for notes and dimension lines.

- Use it for general drafting, geometry, and 3D sketching.
- 5mm spacing pairs well with metric rulers.
1/4 Inch Imperial Grid
For projects using imperial measurements, the 1/4 inch isometric grid is a common option. The spacing matches rulers marked in inches.

When working on architectural or mechanical sketches, choose the grid spacing that maps easily to the scale you plan to use.
Light Blue Grid for Sketching
This template uses a light cyan grid, sometimes called non-reproducible blue. The light color helps the grid sit behind dark pencil or ink lines so your drawing stays the focus of the page.
You can print this style when you want a subtle guide for sketching.

Tabloid Size (11 x 17 Inches)
When a Letter-size page feels too small, the 11 x 17 inch tabloid format provides more space for large diagrams, exploded views, or layouts with many components.

You can generate a tabloid template in PaperMe Studio by changing the paper size setting. Make sure your printer supports 11 x 17 paper and that you select the correct tray.
A3 Landscape
A3 landscape is a larger metric option. It gives you more drawing area than A4, which is useful for detailed isometric views and presentation sheets.
